French National Deported Over Alleged Obscene Content Activities in Bali

DENPASAR, BALINEWS.ID — The Denpasar Immigration Office deported a 30-year-old French national identified by the initials L.R. through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Thursday (Aug. 27, 2026), following immigration action over alleged involvement in producing and promoting obscene content on a digital platform.

L.R., who held a Visit Stay Permit, entered Indonesia on July 20, 2026, through the airport’s autogate using a Visa on Arrival (VoA).

The case began with a public report received by the Denpasar Immigration Office. Officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section subsequently examined L.R.’s travel documents and activities while in Indonesia.

Based on the examination, L.R. was allegedly involved in producing and promoting content containing obscene material through the OF platform. He was also suspected of promoting links directing users to the content for sale.

Denpasar Immigration Office Head R. Haryo Sakti said the deportation was carried out after the authorities completed the required immigration examination and enforcement procedures.

“The action against L.R. was taken after an examination and immigration handling process based on the information received,” Haryo said.

He added that all stages of the process were conducted in accordance with applicable procedures before L.R. was returned to France.

Separately, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Ramdhani, said immigration authorities would take firm action against foreign nationals who violate immigration regulations.

He said the measure reflected the government’s continued efforts to monitor foreign nationals and enforce immigration law in Bali in order to maintain public order and security.

The Denpasar Immigration Office also encouraged the public to report suspected immigration violations involving foreign nationals through its official WhatsApp hotline at +62 812-4618-3838.
