BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko officially inaugurated the Immigration Lounge at Discovery Mall Bali on Thursday (August 27, 2026), marking a new step in bringing immigration services closer to the public.

The inauguration was attended by Bali Governor I Wayan Koster and Discovery Mall Bali General Manager Rachmat Hartanto Tanuharja.

Hendarsam said the Immigration Lounge is part of the Directorate General of Immigration’s efforts to transform public services by making them more accessible, flexible, convenient and comfortable for the community.

“Public services must continue to evolve in line with the needs of society. The establishment of an Immigration Lounge in a shopping mall is an innovation aimed at bringing immigration services closer to the public and making them easier to access, more comfortable and more responsive to public needs,” Hendarsam said.

The facility is the result of a collaboration between the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office and Discovery Mall Bali. Located on the first floor of Discovery Mall Bali on Jalan Kartika Plaza, Kuta, Badung, it is the first immigration service unit in Bali to operate inside a shopping mall.

The Immigration Lounge provides services for the issuance of Indonesian passports as well as various immigration stay-permit services.

The facility operates Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Indonesia Time. It provides 40 daily service slots for passport applications and handles more than 150 stay-permit extension applications each day.

Hendarsam said cooperation with the private sector is also an important part of developing an integrated public service ecosystem.

“We appreciate the collaboration between Immigration and Discovery Mall Bali. This synergy demonstrates that public services can be developed through cross-sector cooperation while maintaining service standards, security and the interests of the public,” he said.

The location inside the shopping mall offers visitors a different service experience. After accessing immigration services, visitors can also enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment facilities at Discovery Mall Bali.

Located in the Kuta Beach area, the mall also offers visitors views of Kuta Beach and access to daily Kecak dance performances held around sunset.

Hendarsam said the Immigration Lounge at Discovery Mall Bali reflects the Directorate General of Immigration’s commitment to continuously innovate in public services while responding to the needs of the community and Bali’s position as an international tourism destination.

“By developing services that are increasingly accessible, we aim to ensure that immigration services are available amid people’s daily activities while providing a professional, comfortable and high-quality service experience,” Hendarsam concluded.
