BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — Bali’s Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in coordination with the Badung Police, has detained an Australian national identified by the initials B.A. in connection with a viral video allegedly showing an indecent act in a residential area on Jalan Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta, Badung, on August 22, 2026.

B.A., an Australian man born in 1998, was identified through facial recognition based on CCTV footage obtained during the investigation. He was reportedly holding a valid Visa on Arrival (VoA).

The identity of the foreign woman allegedly involved in the incident is still being investigated by the police. Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate her for further questioning and legal proceedings.

Following the identification, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office placed B.A. on its Subject of Interest (SOI) list to monitor his movements and detect any attempt to cross through an immigration checkpoint.

The measure proved effective. On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, immigration officers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport detected B.A. as he was preparing to depart for Brisbane, Australia.

The Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office immediately secured B.A. and subsequently handed him over to the Badung Police for further legal proceedings.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, emphasized that the handling of the alleged criminal offense falls under the authority of the police.

“Immigration fully supports the law enforcement process through immigration measures, including the Subject of Interest status,” Novyandri said.

He added that the Immigration Office would continue coordinating with the Badung Police to locate the female foreign national allegedly involved, monitor the legal proceedings against B.A., and take immigration measures if violations are proven.

The case remains under investigation by the authorities, and the suspects are entitled to due process under Indonesian law.
