Bali Police Raid Boarding House in North Denpasar, Seize 2.3 Kilograms of Crystal Meth Ready for Distribution

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – The Narcotics Directorate of the Bali Regional Police uncovered a major drug trafficking case involving 2.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in North Denpasar. A 36-year-old man identified as Guruh Krisna Adi Putra was arrested during a raid at a boarding house room in Gang Jatayu, Jalan Cokroaminoto, Banjar Marga Jati, Pemecutan Kaja Village, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

During the operation, officers confiscated six packages of crystal meth weighing a total of 2,375.96 grams gross. Police also seized a mobile phone allegedly used by the suspect to communicate in connection with the illegal drug distribution network.

Head of Public Information Subdivision of Bali Police Public Relations, Rina Isriana Dewi, said the case was uncovered following public reports regarding suspected narcotics transactions in the Jalan Cokroaminoto area.

“Officers conducted an investigation and eventually carried out a raid on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at around 1:30 p.m. local time in a boarding house room, where the suspect was secured,” Rina said on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

During the search, police discovered a black shopping bag labeled “Mekdi” containing six ready-to-distribute methamphetamine packages wrapped in transparent plastic clips.

Authorities later expanded the investigation to another residence linked to the suspect at boarding house room number 1, Gang Bluncat No. 6, Jalan Batubulan, Benoa Village, South Kuta, Badung, at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the same day.

At the second location, officers found additional items allegedly used for drug packaging activities, including a bundle of transparent plastic clips, an Idealife digital scale, and a white spoon.

Based on preliminary interrogation results, the suspect admitted receiving the methamphetamine from an individual whose WhatsApp contact was saved under the name “AKBP.” Police are currently investigating the identity of the supplier and tracing the possibility of a larger narcotics distribution network.
