BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported 18 foreign nationals between September 21 and 27, 2026, following a series of immigration enforcement operations in its jurisdiction.

Ten of the 18 foreigners were among those detained during a joint operation with the Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) on September 17. They were allegedly found to have violated their immigration permits by engaging in prostitution-related activities. Five of the 10 were also found to have overstayed their permits.

The deportations followed routine immigration patrols conducted from September 15 to 20 at several locations within the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office’s area of jurisdiction.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, said the enforcement action also involved other immigration violations.

One of the cases involved a Russian national identified by the initials VL, who was working as a motorcycle riding coach while holding a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) under the Remote Worker category. Immigration authorities also found indications that VL had provided inaccurate information in obtaining the permit.

Another case involved a Slovakian national who held an ITAS but had failed to update their immigration data after obtaining a new passport.

The remaining six foreign nationals were deported for overstaying their immigration permits. Four had overstayed for less than 60 days but were unable to pay the applicable overstay penalty, while the other two had overstayed for more than 60 days.

Novyandri said the deportations demonstrated the immigration office’s law enforcement function and were part of ongoing efforts to maintain order and security in Bali’s tourism sector.

“We urge all foreign nationals to comply with the regulations in force in Indonesia, including ensuring that they hold an immigration permit appropriate for their activities. These deportations demonstrate our commitment to enforcing immigration law,” Novyandri said.

All of the deported foreign nationals have also been proposed for inclusion on Indonesia’s immigration blacklist in accordance with applicable regulations.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office urged foreign nationals in Indonesia, particularly those staying in Bali, to regularly check the validity of their immigration permits and refrain from engaging in activities that are inconsistent with the type of permit they hold.

Immigration authorities said monitoring of foreign nationals and their activities in Bali would continue to be strengthened to ensure compliance with Indonesian law and to maintain public order and security.
