BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported 17 foreign nationals between September 8 and 18, 2026, following a series of routine immigration patrols conducted from September 5 to 14 across areas under its jurisdiction.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhammad Novyandri, said 10 of the 17 foreign nationals were deported under Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration for activities deemed to have disrupted public order and security.

“Of the 17 foreign nationals we deported, 10 violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration because they disrupted public order and security. Four of them were Australian nationals,” Novyandri said.

One of the Australians, identified by the initials BA, had previously attracted public attention on social media after allegedly engaging in an indecent act in front of a local resident’s house. BA was subsequently recommended for deportation by the Badung Police.

Two other Australian nationals were found to have misused their Visit Stay Permits by working as a director and commissioner of a company.

Another foreign national, identified as JSM, held a Limited Stay Permit but was allegedly found to have misused the permit by holding multiple positions. JSM was also allegedly involved in activities at a company where he no longer held an official position.

JSM was deported through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Meanwhile, the remaining seven foreign nationals were deported after overstaying their permits by more than 60 days, in violation of Article 78 paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

The seven individuals comprised two Dutch nationals and one national each from the United Kingdom, Italy, the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Novyandri said routine immigration patrols were carried out to monitor the presence and activities of foreign nationals in areas under the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office and to ensure compliance with Indonesian immigration regulations.

“We conduct immigration patrols regularly to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals within our jurisdiction comply with applicable regulations. If violations are found, we will process them in accordance with the law,” Novyandri said.

He added that the enforcement measures were part of the Immigration Office’s efforts to strengthen supervision and law enforcement while maintaining quality public services.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office said it would continue conducting routine monitoring and taking action against foreign nationals found to violate Indonesian immigration regulations.
