BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A 67-year-old Dutch woman identified by her initials, FMMM, has been transferred to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) after reportedly causing disturbances at a hotel where she was staying and later at the Denpasar Immigration Office.

The woman was transferred by officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office on Monday, September 21, 2026.

The incident began when local police received a report that FMMM had allegedly caused a disturbance at the hotel where she was staying. Police officers subsequently secured the woman and handed her over to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further immigration-related handling.

However, during the examination process at the immigration office, FMMM reportedly caused another disturbance for reasons that were not immediately clear.

To maintain security and order, immigration officers decided to transfer her to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center.

The immigration authorities said the action was taken under Article 75 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration. The provision authorizes immigration officials to impose administrative immigration measures against foreign nationals who engage in activities considered dangerous, are suspected of posing a threat to public security or order, or fail to comply with Indonesian laws and regulations.

After the immigration officers completed the required administrative examination, FMMM was formally handed over to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center at around 12 p.m. local time on Monday.

She will remain at the detention center pending further immigration proceedings.

Head of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office R. Haryo Sakti praised the coordination between the police and immigration authorities in handling the case.

“Every foreign national staying in Indonesia is required to comply with the laws and norms in force. We appreciate the police for acting quickly to secure the foreign national,” Haryo said.

He added that coordination between government agencies was essential to ensure that cases involving foreign nationals could be handled safely, orderly, and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Ramdhani reaffirmed the immigration authorities’ commitment to maintaining security and public order in Bali.

“Every foreign national visiting Bali must respect the regulations in force. We will take firm action against any violations in order to maintain security and protect Bali, while providing legal certainty for the public as part of Immigration’s commitment to serving the people,” Ramdhani said.

FMMM remains at the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center while awaiting further immigration proceedings.
