Viral Video Shows Alleged Obscene Act by Foreign Nationals in Berawa

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — A video showing two foreign nationals (WNA) allegedly engaging in an obscene act in the yard of a resident’s home in the Pantai Berawa area, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, has gone viral on Instagram.

Police checks found that the incident occurred on Friday, August 21, 2026, at around 6:29 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA), rather than on Saturday as initially indicated in the social media monitoring report.

CCTV footage showed a foreign man and a foreign woman entering the resident’s property before allegedly engaging in an obscene act near the front gate. The incident reportedly lasted about 15 minutes.

The incident was discovered by a female resident who was preparing to place a religious offering outside her home. She was shocked to see the two foreigners and reportedly shouted at them. However, the pair allegedly ignored her.

The two foreigners left the location on foot at around 6:44 p.m., heading west. They reportedly crossed paths with the homeowner as they approached the end of the alley.

The homeowner said he suffered no material or non-material losses. However, because the incident occurred within the sacred area of his residential compound, he said a purification ceremony would be carried out.

Following coordination with immigration authorities and facial identification based on the CCTV footage, the male foreign national was identified as an Australian citizen. The identity and whereabouts of the female foreign national are still being investigated.

The North Kuta Police Criminal Investigation Unit has conducted social media monitoring, inspected the location, collected information from witnesses, reviewed CCTV footage, and coordinated with immigration authorities.
