BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — Bali police have arrested a 28-year-old man identified by his initials, MMT, who is suspected of being involved in the distribution of methamphetamine. Officers seized a total of 18 packages containing 123.26 grams of methamphetamine during raids at two locations in Denpasar and Badung on Tuesday night, August 4, 2026.

The case began with information from members of the public regarding suspected illicit drug transactions in the Dalung area of Badung Regency.

Acting on the information, an operational team from Unit 3 of Sub-Directorate II of the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate conducted an investigation and surveillance operation under the direction of First Inspector I Komang Arya Bayudi.

At around 8:30 p.m. local time, officers intercepted MMT on the roadside of Jalan Buluh Indah, in front of Homestory Bali store, Pemecutan Kaja Village, North Denpasar.

The search was witnessed by two local residents identified by their initials, IPD and IAN.

Police found several packages of suspected methamphetamine concealed inside the dashboard of the vehicle allegedly used by MMT.

In the right side of the dashboard, officers discovered a Beng-Beng snack package containing four plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine, with a combined net weight of 19.60 grams.

A further search of the left side of the dashboard uncovered a Qtela snack package containing a coffee sachet. Inside it were 10 plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine, weighing a combined 29.04 grams net.

Police also seized two mobile phones allegedly belonging to the suspect.

During questioning, MMT reportedly told investigators that he was still keeping additional drugs at his rented accommodation. Officers subsequently proceeded to the second location, a boarding house on Jalan Panji, Gang Pesona Taman Kwanji, Dalung Village, North Kuta, Badung.

At the boarding house, officers found a black backpack containing a Chinese tea package branded Jin Xuar Tea. Inside was a large package of suspected methamphetamine weighing 74.12 grams net.

Investigators also found a black eyeglass case containing another quantity of suspected methamphetamine weighing 0.50 grams net.

In total, police seized 18 packages of suspected methamphetamine with a combined net weight of 123.26 grams from the two locations.

During preliminary questioning, MMT allegedly told investigators that he obtained the drugs from a person he knew by the nickname “Tomblos.”

The suspect and all seized evidence have been taken to the Bali Police Narcotics Directorate for further investigation.

Police are now developing the case to determine the suspect’s alleged role in the drug distribution network and to identify the person allegedly supplying the narcotics.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the suspected supplier as the investigation remains ongoing.
