Minister Agus Andrianto Inaugurates Director General of Immigration and Senior Advisor

BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA – Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto officially inaugurated and administered the oath of office to two senior officials within the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) on Wednesday (April 1) in Jakarta.

The newly appointed officials are Hendarsam Marantoko as Director General of Immigration and Iwan Santoso as Senior Advisor to the Minister for Public Services and Legal Reform.

The inauguration was followed by a handover ceremony for the position of Acting Director General of Immigration from Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman to Hendarsam Marantoko. Yuldi Yusman had served in the acting role for approximately one year.

In his remarks, Minister Agus congratulated the newly appointed officials and emphasized that the trust placed in them carries responsibilities beyond administrative duties.
“May the mandate you officially assume today not only be about carrying out your duties and responsibilities, but also about becoming role models in professionalism and work ethics,” he said.

He underscored that Kemenimipas, as part of the Merah Putih Cabinet, exercises authority delegated directly by President Prabowo Subianto. Therefore, all officials are expected to contribute optimally to achieving national goals as outlined in the 1945 Constitution.
“We must realize that all authority we hold is delegated from the President,” he stressed.

Minister Agus also highlighted that all ministry activities are funded by public money, urging that every expenditure be directed toward improving public welfare.
“The budget that finances all our activities comes from the people. Its use must be oriented toward contributing to public welfare,” he said.

Delivering a philosophical message, Agus encouraged officials to view each moment as an opportunity to create meaningful impact rather than being burdened by routine. He urged them to move forward with a clear purpose and to ensure their roles bring value to society, the nation, and the state.

He emphasized that reaching the peak of one’s career is not the ultimate goal, but rather an opportunity to leave a positive legacy.
“Use this position as a tool to expand benefits, not merely as a title or personal pride,” he stated.

To Hendarsam Marantoko, Minister Agus advised using the ministry’s 15 Priority Action Programs as a guideline in strengthening immigration policies and services. He expressed hope that under Hendarsam’s leadership, immigration services would improve and become a model institution.

Meanwhile, he stressed that Iwan Santoso’s role as Senior Advisor is strategic and crucial in policy formulation.
“You are expected to serve as both a radar and a compass for me in formulating policies,” he said.

Closing his remarks, Agus emphasized the importance of internal solidarity and cross-functional collaboration amid evolving global dynamics. He called on all personnel to maintain unity, teamwork, and effective communication both internally and externally.

On the same occasion, the minister expressed appreciation to Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman for his dedication during his tenure as Acting Director General of Immigration. He acknowledged the many achievements made under Yuldi’s leadership and expressed hope that they would be sustained and further developed.

“On behalf of the Ministry, I extend my gratitude and appreciation for his service and contributions,” Agus said.
